CITY ACCEPTS DEBIT/CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS


The City now accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express card payments for all city charges, including traffic citations.  There will be a  small maintenance charge for using your card.


PRECISION WASTE SERVICE NEW GARBAGE COLLECTOR


Precision Waste Services of Thomson began providing waste collection services for the City of Stapleton on March 1, 2015.  Collection service continues to be on Monday and Thursday of each week, and the monthly collection fee of $13.30 remains the same.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding your service, or the condition of your cart, please contact Precision Waste Service at 706-595-5843.


QUALIFYING FOR MAYOR AND TWO COUNCIL SEATS BEGINS AUGUST 31, 2015


An election will be held on November 3, 2015 for mayor, the seat currently held by Frank Parrish,  and two council seats currently held by Jason Irby and Tara Parrish whose terms will expire December 31, 2015.  The next term for these seats will begin January 1, 2016 and end December 31, 2019.  The Qualifying for these seats will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 through Friday, September 4, 2015 at 4:30 p.m.   Qualifying each day will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., with the exception of 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. when city hall is closed for lunch.  The qualifying fee for Mayor is $72.00 and the fee for council is $27.00. 


OFFICE HOURS


City Hall is now open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Officials extended the service hours in an effort to better serve the community.


OLD BRICKS FROM STAPLETON GARMENT COMPANY FOR SALE


 The City of Stapleton has bricks from the old Stapleton Garment Company building for sale in lots of 25 bricks at $1.00 per brick.  Contact Mayor Frank Parrish at 706-833-0057 to arrange a sale.
